Angst filled mystery

I like this author, and I loved the first two books in this series, but honestly it's enough now. This book was a long angst filled drama, with repetitive conversations between the family, and between Zoey and Val. All of that played on a loop while Leo and Jessica found their way through the story, though with none of the steam found between Zoey and Val, or Angie and Roman...and still no payoff. No answers, no resolution, just more angst. I just finished the book and I feel worn out and unsatisfied. As I said I like this author, but these kinds of long drawn out mysteries/series are not for me. For those who enjoy that, this series is for you.

Not my favorite Romanovsky read

I like Ms. Burns' Romanovsky series and enjoy reading them. This one was pretty decent but nothing has beat Taming Val. I like how Val and Zoey's story continues through this book, I had trouble believing the chemistry between Leo and Jessica/Ashley in this book. It seemed forced. I liked seeing glimpses of Roman's struggles in his relationship with Angie. The book was like an action packed, FBI mystery but was well written and enjoyable. Now can we read Gary and end this already

An excellent reference and resource - A "current classic"

This book is a classic: depth of information over a broad body of knowledge.
The error mentioned by another reviewer appears on p. 488: the "L-bar" term should be squared. Verifying dimensional homogeneity [i.e.that units of measure calculate consistently across the expression and result in "items" {whatever units demand is carried = units of safety stock}]) would alert a reader quickly that the product in the first term is incorrect.

A classic field handbook for manufacturing professionals

This textbook, which has been around for a number of years and has undergone a few revisions, has become the standard preparatory text for APICS tests and college-level production/operations management courses in dozens of universities.
The content is very broad - it covers almost the entire gamut of P/OM topics to some degree. That may be the only drawback to this book: it so broad in its topical coverage that there may be examples where the authors could have gone deeper in their presentation on specific subjects.
But even so, this charactertistic of being "100 miles wide and a few miles deep" works very well for readers who need a comprehensive primer on P/OM. That would include people just entering the field, or those that need to undestand the primary subject matters and areas of study, to point them in new directions.
I highly recommend this book as a foundation reference guide to your business library. Again, I know of many books that may be deeper in specific areas of P/OM, but I know of no book that encompasses so many topics and does and admirable job of presenting those topics. I would also caution the seasoned, highly-read P/OM professional in buying this book, but leave it for those newcomers to the field.

Even if it is taken as the popular textbook for MPC, I'd rather read the another one: "Introduction to the materials management" by Arnold and Chapman. I can not easily catch the points and feel muddled after reading long sections and words in this book. However, the examples and case studies here are worthy to have a big picture for those who are new in this field.

A Must Read for Newbies!

Every help desk manager ended up in the HD business by accident; none of us majored in help desk management or customer service in college. When you start running a HD, you realize that(a) you have almost no idea what you're doing and (b) you look for every book, article and video you can find to help you.

Happily, Phil Gerbyshak & Jeff Brooks have done new managers, and all of us in the support business, a great service by writing "Help Desk Manager's Crash Course." It is exactly what newbies' need during the first 90 days on the job and thereafter as a reference tool. It is well written, imaginative and full of good ideas for new managers. I am not too proud to admit that, even as a veteran of this business, I use it regularly when I'm looking for a fresh perspective on old problems and when I need a reminder of what's important.

Phil and Jeff are experienced managers that know what they are writing about and they write very well! This is a dynamic, exciting, serious book that will be a life perserver for new managers and a superb refresher for "old" ones. About the Author

Robert Lewis Wilson has almost 50 years’ experience as a practising child psychologist and academic at Charles Sturt University, Australia.

Rachel Wilson has degrees in psychology, audiology and education. After seven years of clinical work with children, she moved into research and is currently a senior lecturer at the University of Sydney, Australia.

Emphasizing the extent to which these important writers are preoccupied with hermeneutics, Anger also shows that consideration of their thought brings to light questions and qualifications of some of the assumptions of contemporary criticism.
